Don't do it Stephane

If you are reading this Stephane Dion, don't do it. Don't step down. You can turn the Liberal party fortunes around. You just need to keep pushing the Green Shift. Maybe re-brand it, call it the "Magic Super Happy Tax" (not yet a trademarked name). If you keep trying, one day Canadians will understand it, then they will be sure to love it and make you Prime Minister. They will forget all about the years of Liberal corruption and the last parliament where you helped Stephen Harper 43 times. If you start every speech by telling people to go to the calculator on the website, you could probably even get away with voting with Stephen Harper 43 more times.

Please M. Dion. There is an opportunity here. No one likes a quitter.

Hmmmm, no wonder the NDP can't find an expert to endorse their environmental plan.

Ha!

Jack didn't become PM (not even close).

Now neither Jack or Stephane's environmental plan will come into effect (both plans applauded by environmentalists) . Hopefully Harper will change his mind.

Do you understand that Dipper Chick?

I hear by announce you the Cherniak of Dipper Bloggers.

Jack has gained seats in three successive elections and he's just getting started.

Hopefully we will see some action on the environment. Last parliament, Jack Layton and the NDP got some very good legislation passed. Now it's time to implement it.

And "the Cherniak of Dipper Bloggers?" Low blow (I won't be putting that on display as "shameless advertising" anytime soon). I really don't think I deserve that. My videos are way better.

Jack is just getting started?

2006 17.5%
2008 18.20%

So in 2 to 4 of Harper and Co. we can expect Mr. Latyon to jump to 19.1%?

You are the Cherniak of Dipper Bloggers, I have no doubt. I'll give you better videos...

To bad about Michael Byers, I thought he would of been a great addition to the House of Commons (seriously).

But,

"Byers’ campaign manager Am Johal said the provincial NDP’s stand against the carbon tax turned off a lot of environmentally conscious voters in the West End."

Lots of whiners today, but no support for Stephane. Curious.

I nominate blues clair for the "Cherniak of Concern Trolls", yuck I feel dirty now.

This particular post is nasty and disappointing. I understand the point of the commenter who nominated you for the 'Cherniak of the NDP'.

When and why did you start working in the style of Mike Duffy?

Erin Sikora said...

You're being a little melodramatic. I didn't try to draw a conclusion from stuff that was practically made up, a la Cherniak. And I didn't go after Dion's english or ability to understand a question, like Mike Duffy has.

I didn't go personal. I drew attention to the Green Shift/ carbon tax and the Liberal record. Both are fair game as far as I am concerned.

Don't attack me in a personal way just because you are still smarting over losing seats last week.

deBeauxOs said...

Why do you presume that I'm a Lib -because I don't agree with with the tone and content of your post?

That was a thinly veiled personal attack on an individual. I criticized your choice to deal with the subject in the manner you did, not you personally.

By the way, I am a card-carrying member of the NDP. So there.

Erin Sikora said...

Sorry for calling you a Liberal. If you are a New Democrat, you're right, calling you a Liberal would be a personal attack.

You said I was like Duffy, who asked a panel to essentially put down Dion's english. That was uncalled-for.

I am careful to stay away from attacks of that nature, but I do think that policies and a leader's record are fair game.

deBeauxOs said...

No, I said that your style was like Duffy's, and I meant it specifically for that post.

Otherwise, I think you're awesome. Not being snarky here. The admiration is genuine.
