Linda Duncan, NDP candidate for Edmonton-Strathcona, has really lit a fire up under my little hometown of Edmonton.
She even has a growing movement of Liberals supporting her in her effort to unseat Rahim Jaffer.
As a former resident of Edmonton-Strathcona, this is exciting stuff. Through most of my upbringing I lived in the Ralphocracy. It was disheartening to see my fellow Albertans elect Conservatives every bloody election. I'd look around, at my neighbors, teachers, hell...everybody, after election day thinking 'who are these people'? 'Which of you voted for this madness'?
I had to sell out and settle down in BC because I couldn't take it anymore. That, and Edmonton is damn cold. I don't care what Vancouverites say about "wet cold" vs. "dry cold". Minus 40 is minus 40 people.
Anyways, seeing videos like the one below where over 100 Albertans got together for a canvas blitz for Linda warms my heart and makes me think that there is hope.
Go Linda, go!

Personally, I don't care who gets elected in Alberta as long as it isn't a Conservative. 1 less seat for them = better for the rest of us - particularly in seats that aren't considered by the MSM to be in play, and specifically in Harper's provincial stronghold.
This is a really fun riding to be in right now. Linda just dominated a debate at Kings University College - the Christian school! Support was surprisingly strong for her there and I'll have a full writeup on it shortly.
This may just be a win!
Go Linda. I believe many fellow New Democrats from across Canada have been watching this race with all the hope and best wishes we can send across the land. Run, Linda, Run
Interesting historical note: If Linda Duncan is successful (and I hope she is) she will be only the second New Democrat ever elected to Canada's House of Commons from Alberta.
The only one so far: Ross Harvey
Hmmmmm.... last time the NDP had a seat in Edmonton they won more than 40 seats on E-day. I think signs of the former indicate the likelyhood of the later...
