Coalition Bloggers

Supporting the Coalition for Change.

Liberal blogger Scott Tribe, progressive blogger Kelly John and I, in the spirit of NDP-Liberal cooperation, have put together a badge (that pretty thing over to the right) to show support for the new coalition formally announced today.

We are planning on launching a website too (coalitionbloggers.ca), but we are still working out the details on what the site would do. Maybe a forum for discussion? An aggregator for pro-coalition bloggers? What do you think? We are open to suggestions.

For now, post the badge on your profile so that we can show how widespread the support is for this exciting new coalition government.

Here is the code:

Good for you for taking the initiative. The discussion is already underway across the land, and having a home for it is a good idea.

Please take care not to become too exclusive. Those of us who support replacing the Harperites with a coalition come in many political flavours.

Support for this Coalition shouldn't be construed as a blank cheque for everything the coalition does.

You have to leave lots of room for critical analysis.

I'm fairly sure we aren't being exclusive.

Don't mean to be exclusive at all. The more people supporting the coalition, the better!

Well done. I've added the badge.

Thanks for the badge, Erin.

Added to Moved to Vancouver . . . .

thanks Erin, and all, added the badge. Could it be both of a place to chat and an aggregator?

I'm guessing you'll want to take the "Absent Opposition" widget down now too ... especially since many Liberal bloggers have been kind enough to take down their snide "Thanks, Jack" badge.

Yay! Thanks Dipper Chick

In the spirit of cooperation, done.

I am glad that they have decided to stand up to Harper in this parliament. I will put it on the list of 'good things that the Liberals have done.'

Great stuff Erin!

I'm suddenly a fan of Dion, who knew he had leadership in him.

I welcome the new coalition overlords.

Fun times here in Ottawa. Hope you're well.

Badge added. Second the suggestion that coalitionbloggers.ca be an aggregator. I also think the site should display coalition-related tweets (either the already active #coalition hashtag, or a new one, eg, #progcoalition or #cancoalition).

(BTW, Stevie Taylor LUVS teh twitter -- use #canadarally hashtag if you want your tweets to be picked up on RallyForCanada.ca.)

P.S.

You need more creative trolls. These guys are boring.

How about making the site the place to go to find out about upcoming pro-coalition rallies as well as including links to relevant news items?

Just picked up my code. Thanks! Let's hope this pro-rogue crapola backfires even bigger on Harpo than all the other tantrums have. And meanwhile, Vive la coalition!
